Philip Teverow
Philip Teverow, founder of Solid Brands, has been working in the natural and specialty food industry since the 1980s. He led the branded products division of Dean & DeLuca through three changes of ownership, during which time he gained experience in food production, packaging, and distribution. Since starting his consultancy, Solid Brands, in the 1990s, he has launched product lines for Mario Batali, Marcus Samuelsson, and several other culinary luminaries.
Mr. Teverow consults with entrepreneurs to help them turn food ideas into food businesses. With extensive experience in the development and launching of brands and products, he has deep familiarity with the players and the pitfalls. He specializes in crafting and helping to execute specialty food business plans, in both the consumer packaged products sector and the ingredients and foodservice sector. He is involved deeply in brand development, product development, business planning, and relationship building with suppliers, co-packers, retailers, distributors, brokers, and licensees.
Mr. Teverow holds a BA degree in Anthropology from Columbia University, New York, and is a Fulbright Fellowship post-graduate.
